Workshops and Best-Practice Tours
The activities of Port-Net are workshops and best practice tours separated by 5 topics.

Four Steering Committee Meetings deal mainly with organisational aspects of running the Port-Net project. Besides the Lead Partners the larger and representative partners are involved.

The topic EU-Policies, Port Administration, Management and Finance covers 6 conferences and workshops focussing on administrative and financing aspects of ports within a regional, national, EU and global context.

Maritime Cargo Transportation Challenges consists of three workshops and one best practice tour dealing with current developments of cargo
transport in the Mediterranean and Baltic Sea.

Port Operations, Hinterland Cargo Distribution and Logistic Centres concentrates on the operations in the port and the hinterland. Five Workshops and one Best Practice Tour will cover the large variety of questions of this topic.

The final topic deals with Ports and People in two directions: Users (passengers/tourists) and partners (urban population/regional planners) are faced with a fast growing passenger traffic and urban revitalisation of restructured areas in many ports. Five workshops and one Best Practice Tours cover a broad range of questions concerning durability, infrastructure and environmental compatibility.
